Extended Yin Yoga, Meditaion & Breathwork
We can not control everything around us and Yoga is not the solution for things happening - I wish it was!
Still - during times of extreme uncertainty like we experience as a global collective these days - Yoga, especially calming Yin Yoga, is a critical tool to help with the anxiety, depression, and sedentary states that may result.
In Yin Yoga, the focus is on holding poses for long periods of time (three to five minutes) to access the connective tissues that holds our form together.
Yin Yoga offers a number of the same general benefits as other styles of yoga-but it's particularly ideal for releasing stress in the body's connective tissues and activating the parasympathetic nervous system. From an energetic perspective, Yin also works on stimulating the flow of energy through the meridians, to create balance in the body.
In this extended Class Marlene will guide you through a Mindfulness Meditation & Breathwork followed by a Yin Yoga sequence specifically designed as yoga for anxiety relief. Though it is not a cure, it can provide some comfort and calm when all else seems to be spiraling out of control.
